Tell Congress that toxic chemicals don’t belong in our food

The FDA’s inaction on toxic chemicals in our food is unacceptable. 

• From highly toxic heavy metals in baby food to cancer-linked PFAS chemicals in food packaging, the health of American families is at risk. Your vote can help change that by requiring the FDA to prioritize our food and health. 

  As your constituent, I am emailing you because my family and families across our community are counting on you to pass legislation requiring the FDA to protect our food from toxic chemicals. 

  Specifically, I am urging you to support the following bills relating to the FDA’s approach to food safety:

  • The Food Chemical Reassessment Act of 2021, which would require the FDA to meaningfully review the safety of food chemicals.
  • Baby Food Safety Act of 2021, which would get highly toxic heavy metals out of baby food, protecting babies’ vulnerable developing brains.
  • Toxic Free Food Act, which would close the loophole that lets chemical companies decide, in secret, if food additives are safe for our families to eat.
  • The Keep Food Containers Safe from PFAS Act of 2021 which would ban toxic “forever chemicals” known as PFAS from food packaging.
